A 47-year-old man has been arrested and charged following an incident that led to the evacuation of Galashiels health centre. He is due to appear at Jedburgh Sheriff Court tomorrow in connection with events today. Lothian and Borders Police and the region’s fire and rescue service had been called to the scene and the centre was evacuated as a precaution. An area near the building, on the town’s Currie Road, was cordoned off for several hours by officers.
